Omada Test Team Update

This week the Omada team made their way up to Rockhampton, Sarina and Gladstone.

Ian Arnold (TIC) and Nathan Murphy (Test assistant) were working in partnership with Siemens, as a part of the team completing the testing and commissioning of ETCS level 2 wayside equipment upgrades. Over the course of this project Nathan applied his learnt skills in assisting testers on circuit change overs and the correspondence of tracks, signals, points; WESTRACE® MK2 interlocking and interface with the existing RRI. This was also Nathan’s first opportunity to work with ETCS in the field.

Having recently completed his SARC and WET training, this was Nathan’s first time on a live rail corridor. This gave Nathan the perfect opportunity to apply what he has learnt over the course of the Omada graduate program. The skills he has learnt allow him to work effectively as a test assistant and gain valuable experience for future projects.

The development of our graduates is a major priority for us. Having worked at Omada for some time now, both Nathan and Nicolas have shown incredible development. Having now worked on projects for a number of clients in different states, they are applying their training well and gaining experience. Over the course of the rest of the year, there will be more opportunities for Nicolas, Nathan and Gavin to go on site and get more experience as test assistants on future commissionings.
